About Us
History
Eternal Life Christian Center is a family-oriented church winning souls for Christ.
Our church began as the New Brunswick Assembly of God in 1956 and have since relocated to Somerset New Jersey. In 1994, we were renamed Eternal Life Christian Center, upgraded our facilities and opened the Educational Enrichment Center in 2002.
We follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, under Senior Pastor’s leadership with a mission to build lives for eternity. Since 1956 we have invested into the community, the next generation, and each other with our lives regardless of circumstance. Eternal Life Christian Center remains a demonstration of the faithfulness of God as we continue to expand in number, territory, and influence.
2026 is the year of restoration!
Our Mission
- Love God: Above all, loving God is our first priority.
- Love People: It is our charge as believers to love people as we love ourselves.
- Help People Love God: Because God first loved us, it is our mission to help people Love God, find hope, and receive the redemptive message in the gospel of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Meet Our Pastor
Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and welcome to Eternal Life Christian Center.
Pastor Ron and First Lady Laverne Young, along with the entire ELCC Family, welcome you! We are gratefully blessed to have you visiting us online. I am honored, on behalf of The ELCC family, to give you a brief overview of who we are.
We Love God and His “Creation Masterpiece – Humanity.” That Includes YOU! Therefore, the ELCC family thrives on fulfilling the Mission-Purpose God has given to His Church:
- To be an agency of God for evangelizing the world (Acts 1:8; Matt. 28:19- 20; Mark 16:15-16).
- To be a corporate body in which man may worship God (1 Cor. 12:13).
- To be a channel of God’s purpose to build a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son (Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Cor. 12:28; 1 Cor. 14:12).
- To be a people who demonstrate God’s love and compassion for all the world (Psalm 112:9; Gal. 2:10; 6:10; James 1:27).
I encourage you to continue to view our site and trust you will be encouraged to know that we value God and you, because He created you in His image and likeness. Therefore, you are somebody important, significant, and a blessing to God and to us!
